Description:

This two-day entry-level course gives investigators and analysts a working understanding of how cellular telephones operate, the records they generate, how to obtain them, and how to leverage them in an investigation. Taught software-agnostic using freeware only, it blends lecture with plenty of hands-on time analyzing records — covering cellular technology and network operation, the legal process and considerations, provider records, retention, cell site lists, Timing Advance and estimated handset location data, mapping and records analysis with free tools, and an introduction to tower dumps and area searches.

You’ll leave able to obtain the right cellular records, understand what they show, and analyze and map them to support an investigation — with no premium software required.
