This entry-level course offers a practical introduction to the fundamentals of cellular records and their role in modern investigations. Delivered live online, it reviews how cellular networks operate and how records are generated, interpreted, and applied — covering the key differences between historical and live records, the types of data available from service providers, and how to interpret that data in an investigative context. Core technical concepts like basic network operation and Timing Advance (TA) and estimated handset location data, alongside the resources you’ll need to keep learning.
You’ll leave with a working grasp of what cellular records are, what providers can offer, and how to interpret the basics before stepping up to CTRA and our intermediate and advanced level courses.
